Fancy a slice of the good life?
You want a getaway, an adventure, an antidote to the city-stress, a place where you can chill out; the relaxing, outdoor, side of camping with the comfort of a real bed and a warm fire!
No worries. That’s exactly what we provide.
Kents is a Cornish eco-retreat with three cosy yurts and a very relaxed vibe. We are an organic smallholding, run by a bunch of young surfers, chickens, ducks, lambs, horses and Duncan the rabbit. We’re passionate about food; growing it, cooking it, and eating it! We get excited about serving our guests produce, fresh from the garden, in hearty meals cooked up by Joe, our chef. Our aim is to run the place as sustainably and self sufficiently as possible.
At the moment we’re improving and expanding our yurt camp. We hope it’ll be ready in time for this summer but aren’t taking bookings at the moment. If you want to come and stay register your email address below and you’ll be the first to know when we open the bookings.
Each yurt has two double beds and can sleep four people. Yurt guests can use the eco friendly composting loo. There is also drinking water available, a shower in the farm house, plenty of space for kids to play in the fields and a fire pit for campfires. The yurts are candlelit and don’t have electricity, there are charge points for phones etc in the barn.
We ask guests to bring their own bedding with them as this helps to keep down our costs and environmental impact; no need to wash bedding after only one night, you can take it home and use it again! If you are not arriving by car we can arrange bedding for you.
We are passionate about good food and serve breakfasts (£6.50) and dinners (£9) using our own produce from the farm. We encourage campfires, camping stoves and BBQs. We are happy to cater for vegans or other dietary requirements.
Guest are able to rent bikes, surfboards and wetsuits and we are always happy to offer advice on finding the best local surf spots. We can also help you arrange surf lessons.
Dog are welcome but must be well behaved as we have livestock. Please clean up after your dog!
Smoking is not allowed inside the yurts.
The space is also available to hire for events.
Set in peaceful countryside, on a working permaculture smallholding; you can walk to the traditional village pub, head to one of the local surfing beaches, hike the coastal path, or head to the surfing and seaside town of Bude (4 miles away). In Bude you’ll find traditional Cornish pasties, cream teas, fish and chips as well as restaurants, bars, shops and beaches. You can also visit Cornwall’s many tourist attractions.
